Blue and white plate

A rare Chinese porcelain blue and white small circular plate painted in excellent blue with a delightful scene of a monkey up a pine tree disturbing a wasp's nest with a stick in order to feast on the larvae, a stag leading a doe by a river bank below and two birds flying playfully above, all within a formal border of hexagons enriched with panels of various fruiting sprays and ruyi-heads, the underside with a band of scrolling lotus around a two-character mark ji jing (massed brocade) within a double ring
