Unusually well painted Chinese porcelain dish painted in blue, green, white and turquoise enamels, iron-red and gilt with three scaly flaming dragons in flight among clouds in pursuit of flaming pearls around a central shou character, the rim gilded, the underside with three sprays of fruiting peach, pomegranate and Buddha's hand and a flower bloom

*The high quality of this piece suggests a date in the reign either of Xianfeng or Tongzhi, when there was an improvement in ceramic production
