*Inspired by a Worcester porcelain design. According to family tradition, this service was given to Dutch governor Constantijn Johan Wolterbeek by the Sultan of Malacca when the British ceded the colony to the Dutch after 23 years of interim rule. Formerly in the collection of a Dutch aristocratic family in Indonesia and purchased before 1975.
